I want the main block (name) and menu to stay fixed throughout every page, so would be nice to have it as the entrance to the site.

Thinking of omitting the thumbnail view for a more book-like double-spread format for work.
The white lines underneath the fixed name header represent menus, maybe even extending as rolling over, to display folio titles.

First mock-ups of mood boards, trying to bring the minimalist thing through the use of imagery and colour, successful?Feels more like a mock-up for a layout, but maybe that works in my favour?

Unsure as to what issue this is from, but found it lying in a folder on my computer. Really nice use of type size and weight, especially with the numerical set. Would be a nice addition to add a more dynamic element?

Found these old Jil Sander era campaign shots, really like the offset of the image to the subtle branding, might be hard to emulate without actual human imagery though?

Further refinement of aesthetic, not sure about the text all the way across the page, although it does expand/shrink to fit screen width.

Even though a blog site with a lot more content than what I would present on my portfolio site, I like the use of the pinline across the top to differentiate space and create solid footing for the menu and logo.

Eastpak by Raf Simons.

Strong use of black and white to divide the site into different sections for different seasons. Image thumbnails slide out from behind the main portfolio images and the menu and contact details, with the name in pride of place, permanently present.

I quite like the unveiling loading sequence also.

Nicely balanced website as a whole with smooth use of minimal colour to emphasise the darker work presented. The scrolling mechanism (chasing cursor) is somewhat offputting, I feel that a simple left and right arrow would have been much more functional. I particularly like the overhead menu bar in stark white always presenting a good use of logo/name placement away from other text use.

Daniel Freytag's site is simple, with a clean, basic layout, and they soft grey background hue is nicely complimentary to the work (with the white block bordering). Typeset used is easy to read, and the sectioning into two "folios" (Landscape and Still Life) is pleaasantly functional.

The photograhy particularly of the Monolith Series is a nice way tto isolate a point of focus, would be good for isolating handworked pieces ie. knit samples.

A really smooth, clean interface with a very simple portfolio layout, divided into "projects" (XIII, NATION, DEMONS), under which are different galleries of particular subjects. The gallery style portfolio links to larger, single and double spread photographs of which the thumbnails are occasionally cropped. Easy to use, contact link remains visible at all times.

Hiroshi Sugimoto's site isn't particularly elegant or slick, yet the first image presented on the front page is so striking and completely encapsulating of his ability and aesthetic as an artist that I had to cite him.

Work Selection Consideration.

I want to convey my abilities in not just textile design, but also my other pursuits in photography, drawing, perhaps even some of my work from structures (given the right presentation treatment).

- Am thinking along the lines of having a couple of major projects, but also including some work that falls under drawing/illustration, photography, writing etc. Will decide when I have collated and evaluated all the work I wish to include, 15 to 20 pieces max? Dont want to overwhelm the viewer, short and sweet. Impact.

- Audience wise, am not particularly going for just those with exactly the same ideals as me, so will push to include some of my more softer work, as opposed to just my favourites (thus the idea of integrating my weave/knit work).
